I've noticed that too!

A lot of "How to Succeed on Medium" articles push for daily writing/publishing and short articles (under 1K words). The only way one can really submit new posts every day is if they keep their articles short and sweet and limit the amount of research that has to be done (unless they have a really great attention span and a lot of time on their hands). I understand the idea behind it: the more articles you have out there, the more likely you are to have at least one viral post. I just personally can't bring myself to do that right now, and I don't think it's realistic for most people.

It's a bit deterring to see an obviously rushed article get 10K claps while yours gets 200 despite working on it for a few days... which is why I want to switch my mindset to simply writing on here for the pure enjoyment of it. I think that if anyone is to succeed on Medium, they need to first and foremost enjoy writing, because of the amount of consistency that is required, and because there are many let downs along the way.

I wish you luck on your journey! Thank you so much for taking the time to read and for commenting!
